From Survival to Advocacy
Mae’s Foundation for Freedom was born from lived experience.
After leaving an abusive marriage, our founder was left with no income and cut off from marital funds, forced to start over. Like so many survivors, she faced the overwhelming reality of trying to survive while also fighting a legal battle she could barely afford.
When survivors leave, they often leave with just the clothes on their back—no money for shelter, gas, food, or legal help. And that is exactly what keeps so many trapped.
After experiencing the crushing cost of legal fees firsthand, our founder realized how many women stay in abusive situations simply because they cannot afford to get out.
What began as one woman’s fight for freedom became a mission to help others find theirs.
